Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

I offer in-person sessions in Yangebup, Western Australia and online sessions. 

Can we speak on the phone or via zoom before I book a session? 

I offer a free 15-minute phone/zoom consultation that gives you the opportunity ask any questions you may have, and/or to check that we are a good fit. 

If you are interested, we can schedule your next session from this call.

What is your availability? 

I work Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays.
My working hours are between 10am – 4pm WST.

How long are sessions and what are your fees? 

$170 – 1 hour session
$250 – 90 minute sessions

Prices are listed in Australian dollars – AUD

If outside of Australia I will send through an invoice via square prior to our call.
Within Australia, bank transfer, eftpos and cash options are available.

Do you work with children? 

I work predominantly with adults, although I do see young women and men from 16 onwards. If we are not the right fit, I will refer you to another professional who may be suitable.

Do I need a referral to see you? 

No, just reach out via email or call me and we can book in an initial session.

Do you provide medicare rebates? 

No. Counsellors are not currently able to provide Medicare rebates. However, working with a private counsellor means your sessions are strictly confidential (except in a small number of circumstances) and no communication will be sent to your GP or employer, unless you request this.

What do you bring to the counselling space? 

Finding the right counsellor for you is important. I have worked holding space, as a healer and therapeutic life coach for 10-years.

I am a Māori woman and my upbringing and experiences mean I hold a different worldview than many other counsellors about the things going on in your life. It’s extremely likely that I have lived through something you have gone through, or have walked alongside someone else who has navigated your experiences. 

I am seeking support for a specific issues (anxiety, depression, low mood, relationships, family, trauma, PTSD)

I am comfortable with most presentations and experiences. I receive ongoing personal development training and education to keep my skills and knowledge up to date in these areas. 

I have tertiary training in counselling, psychology, community development, sociology and have regular individual and group supervision which

Can you make clinical assessments, diagnoses or reports? 

No, I am not able to make clinical assessments or diagnoses.

If my services are being accessed alongside other health-care practitioners, you can request that we stay in contact. I will discuss this with you individually and you will be required to sign a form to say you agree to this.

What can I expect during an intake session? 

Our primary intake session is our option to connect, share information that is important to our time together.

What are the known benefits of receiving counselling? 

  • Having a compassionate, non-judgmental listener who is neutral in your life, this allows you to make decisions outside of existing influences. 
  • Emotional healing after loss, relationship loss & trauma.
  • Emotional support during difficult times, such as intimate partner violence, separation, divorce, grieving, recovery, and job loss.
  • Being encouraged to pursue healthier life choices and outcomes. 
  • Over time you develop & identify tools and ways of being to help guide your life in the direction you want it to go.
